Polling in Baramulla’s Uri touches 60 % mark

Barmulla’s border town Uri recorded 60 percent polling while south Kashmir’s Mattan witnessed less than 3 percent in the third phase of urban and local body elections being held today amidst heightened security.

Till 12 pm , 2117 votes out of 3552 were cast at the by voters in the border town of Uri.  Among the voters, 1096 were male and 1021 females. The poll percentage was 59.69 till noon

However, in the 7 wards of municipal committee  of south Kashmir’s Mattan only 125 votes were cast till noon.
