People thrash non-locals for trying to unfurl Indian flag in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk

Locals on Tuesday thrashed  a few  non-local youth belonging to right wing party Bharatiya Janata Party  after they tried to hoist the Indian  flag at Srinagar’s city centre, Ghanta Ghar.

Eyewitnesses said that local youth  pounced on the non local youth as they attempted to unfurl the tri color.

They said that the non-locals trying to unfurl the flag in the city centre were rescued by CRPF personnel deployed in the area.

Right after the incident Pro-freedom slogans reverberated in the area and police took the youth in custody.

The youth have been detained at Kothibagh police station.
