Panchayat polls: Pulwama witnesses 0.2% voting till noon, Kupwara 30%

The volatile Pulwama district of south Kashmir has recorded 0.2% voting till 12 pm while the adjacent  Anantnag has witnessed 6.7% voting.

However north Kashmirs’s  Kupwara district has recorded as 30.7% voting highest in the Valley while in its neighboring district Baramulla it is recorded as 26.1%.

In Bandipora district 30.0% voters have exercised their franchisee to vote till 12pm.

The Budgam district  has recorded 29.8% voting while as 13.2% in the Ganderbal district.

In Jammu division the Poonch has witnessed highest polling of 72.0 % while Doda with the lowest of 55.9% so far. The other districts , Ramban and Udhampur have recorded a turnout of 63.9% and 60.3% respectively. While as Rajouri witnessed a turnout of 60.4%.

In Reasi the turnout was recorded as 56.2% and it was 59.1% in Jammu.

Amid shutdown and funerals of militants, the Panchayat elections are underway in the Valley.
