Panchayat polls: 34.65% voting recorded in Kashmir division till noon

A voter turnout of 34.65% was recorded in the Kashmir division till 12 noon in the ongoing panchayat polls amid shutdown and boycott call by the joint resistance leadership (JRL).

Highest voter turnout of 40.3% was recorded in Bandipora district of north Kashmir and lowest turnout in Ganderbal recording 9.2% voting.

While the turnout has crossed the fifty percent mark  in the Kargil district with 52.5% voters casting their vote,  in Leh  48.1% voters excercised their franchisee so far.

20.1% in Baramulla, 33.1% in Budgam district and 39.3% in Kupwara voting was witnessed respectively  till noon.

Voting  in Jammu division  was above fifty percent mark. The highest in Poonch with a record of 67% and lowest in Kishtwar with 51.1%. In the other districts it was recorded as 52.3% in Doda, 60.3% in Udhampur , 61% in Rajouri, 62.2% in Ramban and 62.5 in Kathua.

The overall percentage in Jammu has reached 59.48%
