The benchmark equity indices on the BSE and National Stock Exchange (NSE) continued to trade nearly 1.5 per cent lower on Tuesday tracking the weakness in the global market as investors dumped equities across the board due to an escalation in Russia-Ukraine tensions, reported The Indian Express.
At 12:07 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex was trading 811.04 points (1.41 per cent) lower at 56,872.55, while the Nifty 50 tumbled 237.95 points (1.38 per cent) at 16,968.70.
All the sectoral indices on the BSE were trading in the red during the early afternoon trade.
TCS, Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, SBI, Dr. Reddy’s, HCL Tech were the top laggards.
