Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday said that it has arrested one with 12 grams of contraband Brown Sugar like substances at Kanispora Baramulla during naka checking.
In a statement, a spokesman said: “Police under the supervision of Sajjad Bukhari, DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by PSI Rayees Ahmad, IC PP Delina arrested a Photo Journalist namely Inayat Qayoom Baidar R/O Khawajabagh Baramulla during naka checking at Kanispora who was coming from Baramulla towards Delina on Motor Cycle bearing registration number JK05J-2513 and upon seeing the naka party he tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.”
He said “During his personal search, Police said 12 grams of contraband Brown Sugar like substances was recovered from him and was taken into custody immediately and the MotorCycle was also seized at spot.”
A case under NDPS Act has been registered in Police station Baramulla and further investigations have been set in motion, he said.
General public of the area hailed the efforts of Baramulla Police and showed their willingness to support police to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationship, the statement added. (KDC)
