Light rain and snow lashed parts of  Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday as the MeT department has forecast an improvement in weather.

The weather office said that there would be an improvement in weather from today afternoon.

The rain and snowfall occurred during the last 24 hours in the state.

Gulmarg froze at minus 9.5 degrees Celsius, while Srinagar recorded 0.1 and Pahalgam minus 1.5 as the minimum temperatures.

Jammu city recorded 7.9 degrees Celsius, Katra town 6.5, Batote minus 1.5, Bannihal 0.5 and Bhaderwah 0.1 as the minimum temperatures on Thursday.
