Kulgam encounter: Youth killed in clashes


A 23-year-old youth was killed during intense clashes between government forces and protesters in Qaimoh village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday.

According to the sources, Yawar Ahmad Dar (23) son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar, a resident of Gasipora Wanpoh, sustained a critical bullet wound in his chest during the clashes at the encounter site.

He succumbed to bullet injuries on the way to Anantnag district hospital. Hospital authorities also confirmed the death of the youth.

Earlier, police have claimed to have killed two militants while one was arrested during the gunfight in Chadder area of Qaimoh village.
