Kulgam, Anantnag shut to mourn civilian, militant killings

A complete shutdown is being observed in twin districts of Kulgam and Anantnag districts of south Kashmir to mourn the killings of five militants and a civilian in clashes in Chowgam village of Qazigund yesterday.

Locals said that all  shops and other business establishments are closed and traffic is off the roads in Kulgam, and Anantnag adjacent villages.

As per reports Qazigund town and adjoining areas are witnessing a complete shutdown..

Five militants and a civilian – all residents of Kulgam and Anantnag districts – were killed in a gunfight and clashes in Chowgam on Saturday. Nearly two dozen protesters were injured in clashes near the site of the gunfight.
