Kashmir shuts down to mark ‘black day’

A complete shutdown is being observed in Kashmir valley  on Saturday October 27 against the landing of Indian army in the valley on the same day in 1947.

All the commercial establishments, markets, schools, colleges, and transport across the valley is shut in response to the strike call given by  the joint resistance leadership.

October 27 is observed as a black day in the Kashmir valley.

In Srinagar, all shops and business establishments are closed while the movement of traffic is thin.

To prevent people from holding any protest demonstrations, the authorities have imposed strict restrictions in downtown  areas of  Srinagar.

Similar reports of shutdown from all other parts of the valley have been recieved.

As a precautionary measure, train services on the Baramulla to Banihal route have been suspended.
