JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik had called for a shutdown on Monday against ‘grave’ human rights abuses in the valley.

All shops and other business establishments are closed in Srinagar and other district headquarters of the valley.

Public transport is off the roads while a skeletal movement of private vehicles is being witnessed in some areas of Srinagar city.

The JRL has also urged people to observe December 10 (International Human Rights Day) as a black day.
