Kashmir shuts down against killing spree

A complete shutdown is being observed in the Kashmir valley on Monday  against the killing of 17 Kashmiris in the past week.

All shops and other business establishments are closed while movement of public transport is off the roads. However, quite a few of private vehicles are plying on the roads in Srinagar city and other district headquarters..

Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Yasin Malik on Sunday  had called for a shutdown Monday  against the recent spree of killings in Kashmir.

Train services in the valley have also been suspended for the day.
