Srinagar: The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for shutdown in areas going to polls in the eight phase of Panchayat elections on Saturday.

In a statement issued here, JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik have asked people to observe a complete protest shutdown in Hyhama, Kupwara, Hajin, Nadihal, Narwah, Boniyar, Qamarwari, B.K.Pora, Narbal, Achgooze, Pampore, Imam Sahib and Qaimoh going to polls tomorrow.

JRL has asked people to demonstrate their total rejection and disregard of this ‘futile exercise by staying away and boycotting it completely’.
