JK bank employees continue protests in Srinagar

Srinagar: Employees of Jammu and Kashmir Bank held protests on Friday demanding rollback of the government decision to turn the bank into a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU).

Continuing their demand of the revocation of order passed by the State Administrative Council (SAC), employees staged a protest outside the Zonal Headquarters of the bank at Maulana Azad road in Srinagar.

The protesting employees were carrying placards reading as “J&K Bank is a wonderful institution, let it remain wonderful’ and ‘Roll Back SAC decision’

The employees and many other civil society organizations have decided to continue protests, if the decision will not be revoked.

Meanwhile Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference working President Omar Abdulllah, also lashed out at the decision of Governor led administration for making the bank a PSU.

Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also said that the New Delhi is now hitting at the economy of the Kashmir as well.
