Designation: Reporting Interns

The internship
We are looking for interns who have a flair for reporting and are able to write stories with clarity and fresh perspective beginning 1 November 2020. The intern must ideally already have a good understanding of conventional coverage in the Kashmiri press and at the same time be enterprising and able to take initiatives.
Reporting Desk: Applicants applying for the Reporting Desk are expected to be fluent in writing in the English language and ideally must be able to spot developments and take quick initiatives to cover those events. Applicants must be energetic and quick to write crisp copies on short deadlines.
In addition to the above-mentioned roles, interns will be guided by editors in producing three feature stories during the internship.

Selected applicants will be given a monthly stipend during the internship. Interns who show excellent performance and initiative during the duration of the internship will be considered for permanent roles at The Kashmir Walla.
Eligibility: To be eligible for the internship, applicants must either have completed or currently enrolled in a Bachelors’s or Masters’s program in Journalism or related disciplines.
The internship is strictly for news writing and digital desk. Familiarity with social media management, WordPress, and basic HTML is an add-on.
Only shortlisted candidates will be informed by email by 16 October for final interviews at The Kashmir Walla’s Srinagar office.
