On Friday, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has approved the proposal to create thirty-seven new industrial areas and has allocated more than 9,000 kanals of land to the Department of Commerce for the same.
The Administrative Council (AC) under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu approved transfers of state land measuring 9,654 kanal and a marla in favour of Industries and Commerce Department for establishing Industrial Estates at thirty-seven identified locations in Jammu and Kashmir.
The government said that the identified areas where the new Industrial Estates are being proposed to be established, will witness a boost in the local economy, generation of employment opportunities, and overall development of the area.
In these new industrial areas, SIDCO will develop 12 areas while SICOP will develop 58 areas.
