IGP visits Pulwama to review security ahead of Panchayat elections

Srinagar: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir S. P. Pani visited district Pulwama on Saturday to review security arrangements ahead of the Panchayat elections in Kashmir, which will begin from 17 November.

IGP was accompanied by DIG South Kashmir Amit Kumar, and they visited police station Litter, CRPF Camp Tahab and DPO Pulwama, a police spokesperson said.

While chairing a meeting of officers, IGP took a detailed review of security measures taken for forthcoming Panchayat elections.

“IGP directed the officers to ensure that the elections are held in secure atmosphere. He also interacted with jawans at Police Station Litter. He also heard the grievances of police personnel patiently and assured them that their genuine problems would be taken up on priority with concerned authorities,” a police statement issued here read.
