IGP Kashmir holds August 15 security review meeting

Srinagar: Inspector General of Police (Kashmir) S. P. Pani held a meeting on Saturday to review the preparedness and security arrangements in place for the forthcoming August 15 day.

As per the police statement, the meeting was attended by all the territorial officers of the District Srinagar. “The IGP took a detailed review of the security arrangement laid out around the venue,” it said.

He was also briefed about the security measures adopted in the other areas of the city for ensuring the smooth conduct of August 15th.

IGP also directed the officers to ensure that foolproof security measures are in place while stressing on the human friendly approach towards policing in dealing with the public on roads.

He has further requested the public for cooperation to ensure smooth passage of August 15th.
