Life came to a standstill  in Srinagar  following heavy rainfall and cloud burst, disrupting traffic and pedestrian movement, power supply and tele-communication services.

Many parts of downtown Srinagar got inundated following heavy rains, at certain places in downtown the water seeped into the residences.

Many people took to social media to lambast the authorities for the mess the rain had created.

After over a week long of hot weather, weather suddenly changed on Monday evening as it rained for the night.

Majority of roads in Srinagar were inundated due to faulty drainage system hampering the traffic movement in the  city.

City centre including Maulana Azad road and Residency road were also water logged, bringing traffic movement to halt.
