Govt removes SP Vaid as DGP, Dilbag Singh given charge

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday transfered S. P. Vaid as Transport Commissioner, JK, while as Dilbag Singh, DGP (Prisons) was posted as Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir.

The order was issued by the government giving Singh additional charge as the DGP “till a regular arrangement is made.”

Vaid is 1986 batch IPS officer and Singh is 1987 batch IPS officer.

Vaid has replaced Saugat Biswas, an IAS officer of 2006 batch, who has been posted as Special Secretary to the government in Information Technology, continuing to hold other charges.

Reportedly, Vaid has been replaced as the centre has not been happy with him.
