Government on Sunday banned and placed strict restrictions on the proposed seminar in which the different minority leaders from India were scheduled to participate and speak and in which the possibilities of a collective course of action against the fascist policies of the communal government of India was also planned to be discussed.

While terming the action of the government as state terrorism, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani condemned it in strong words and said that the fascist and the communal government of India want to suppress all the minorities by using its state power and it is the need of the time that all the minorities including Muslims, Sikhs and Christians should join their hands to raze down the wicked agendas of the RSS and collectively fight for their existence.

According to a statement issued to KNS, Hurriyat (G) decided to called a historic seminar on 14 June Sunday at Hyderpora office but the government placed strict restrictions on that. For this purpose besides Syed Ali Geelani the police also put Tehreek-e-Hurriyat general secretary Muhammad Ashruf Sehrai, Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar and district president Srinagar and Ganderbal Raja Mehraj-ud-din under house detention and deployed a huge police deployment on the airport road, lanes and by-lanes leading to the Hurriyat office and didn’t allowed anybody to move towards the seminar venue.

Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that almost all the prominent leaders from India who were invited in this seminar to present their view had reached the Srinagar but the police from the early morning had started raiding different Hotels of the city to arrest them. And in this process they succeeded in arresting the Dal Khalsa chief Kanwarpal Singh, his companion Dr. Manjinder Singh Jandi and the prominent human rights activist and chairman ‘Sikhs for Human Rights’ Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema in Hotel Grand Rayan at Hyderpora and shifted them to police station Saddar while as the Akali Dal leaders including Jaskaran Singh Kahn Singh Wala and Narinder Singh Khalsa were stopped by police outside the lane which leads to the seminar venue and were forced to return.

The police blocked all the roads leading to the seminar venue which prompted the pro-freedom people to held a peaceful protest demonstration and sit in at the airport road but the police used excessive force against the protesters and detained dozens of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leaders and activists including Zahoor-ul-haq Geelani, Bashir Ahmad Qurashi, Syed Imtiyaz Hyder, Rameez Raja, Umar Adil Dar and Muzaffar Ahmad Najar and many arrested activists have not been identified yet.

To thwart the said seminar, the police also raided many leaders of the Hurriyat Conference and Tehree-e-Hurriyat and conducted search there. In a statement to KNS, Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are prime target of the autocratic and oppressive policies of the Indian communal government. He however said that the new faces who came to power in this country in 2014 are not only the enemies of the Kashmiris but all the minorities of India particularly the Muslims, Sikhs, and Christens are on their hit list and this fascist forces want to eliminate their very existence in India.

Syed Ali  Geelani said that the BJP is following the agendas of RSS and are on their way to make India a Hindu Rashtra and to accomplish this goal this communal government can go to any extent. They have started a war against the ideologies and religions of minorities with the “Ghar Wapsi (home coming)” and “Bahu lavo, Beti Bacho (marry their daughters and don’t give yours)” like slogans and they want to force the minorities to accept Hinduism. The pro-freedom leader of Kashmir said that we will not watch all this silently but we will use every possible way to not to let these wicked and communal policies to succeed fail and not only in Kashmir we will try to mobilize the public consensus from whole of India.

Syed Ali Geelani said that the Sunday’s seminar was called for the same purpose and we wanted to send a loud and clear message from Srinagar to the communal and fascist forces that “your plots will not be tolerated and welcomed here but we will all collectively fight for our existence and identity and you will have to face a very tough resistance by our side. The Kashmiri leaders further said that we will continue to remain in close touch and share our views with the heads and representatives of all the minorities of India and will try to adopt some other ways to conduct these types of meetings in future. If need arises we may also think about the visit to India in this regard.
