Geelani issues protest calendar

Hurriyat G chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Monday issued a new protest calendar. He said that bringing back the mortal remains of Muhammed Afzal Guru is the ultimate demand of his party.

In a press release issued here, Geelani was quoted saying, there will be no strike of Tuesday but people must hold protest demonstration peacefully in the evening.

On Wednesday and Thursday, civil curfew must be observed by the people of Kashmir.

Friday there will be no strike till 1 pm, but people should protest after the Friday congregational prayers and he added that, calendar for further course of action will be issued after Friday.

However, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Yasin Malik has called for a full day of strike on Friday 20th.

Three people have been killed and scores injured in protest between the people and paramilitary forces in Kashmir since Afzal Guru was hanged in Tihar Jail, New Delhi on last Saturday.
