Funeral in absentia offered for Pulwama slain in Srinagar

Scores of people on Tuesday offered funeral in absentia in Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid for the slain Pulwama civilians and militants killed on Saturday during a gunfight with government forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Eyewitnesses said that  people assembled inside the compound of Srinagar’s historic Jamia Masjid in the old city and offered prayers for the slain.

After offering prayers people raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.

Three militants were killed in a gunfight in Sirnoo area of Pulwama on Saturday.

Seven civilians were also killed on the same day in forces action.
