Fresh earthquake kills at least 29 in Nepal

At least 29 people have died in Nepal due to multiple earthquakes that jolted the country on Tuesday. The first quake measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale struck at 12:35 pm, followed by three other temblors that measured 6.2, 5.4 and 4.8 on the Richter Scale.

In addition to those deaths, at least another 1,006 people in the country suffered injuries, according to Nepalese government information and communications ministry spokesman Minendra Rijal.

According to reports, terrified people fled buildings in Kathmandu, which were already badly damaged. The latest tremor was also felt in northern India and Bangladesh. The epicentre of the quake was about 75 kilometers east of Kathmandu close to Everest base camp.
