Forces lob tear smoke shells on students demanding exam deferment in Sopore

Government forces on Wednesday resorted to tear gas shelling on students who were demanding deferment in their examinations in Sopore  of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The students  of Government Higher Secondary school Sopore, Baramulla district were protesting while demanding the deferment of their annual Board exams till mid-November on Wednesday morning.

As per the reports students of class 11th gathered on Srinagar-Kupwara highway for protests and blocked the movement of all vehicles, carrying with them  banners and placards.

They requested the Jammu and Kashmir board of school education (JKBOSE)  authorities to defer their exams to mid-November so that they can complete their pending syllabus.

However,  police resorted to tear gas shelling after the students started throwing  stones on them.
