One militant of Lashkar-e-Toiba was killed today morning after the Indian forces cordoned an area in the Fateh Kadal area of downtown Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian controlled Kashmir where suspected militants were hiding.
Hilal Ahmad alias Hilal Molvi who was a resident of North Kashmir’s Palhallan village was killed by Indian forces in the encounter. He was active October 2012. Before joining militants he was a stone thrower in 2010 mass uprising and later.
Police sources say that the militants opened fire and started the encounter between the militants and the forces.
Locals at the spot said that the forces had cordoned the area at midnight and in the morning the battle started.
