India recorded 499 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the fatality count to 414,141.
The country recorded 38,164 new coronavirus infections in a single day, pushing the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 31,144,229, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.
The active number of Covid-19 cases in the country is 421,665 while 30,308,456 people have recovered from the virus so far.
So far, the world has reported 191,230,672 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic broke with 4,105,847 deaths. The US remains the worst-hit country, followed by India, Brazil, France and Russia.
