Srinagar: Authorities on Monday directed all health institutions here to do away with sampling of dead bodies for novel coronovirus but ordered that the burial shall be undertaken “strictly” as per covid-19 protocol as a “precautionary measure.”

In an official notification, District Magistrate Kupwara Anshul Gargh said that the directions are in consonance with Secretary Health and Welfare, Government of India.

“Consequent upon the directions of Secretary Health and Welfare, Government of India, during the V.C (video conferencing” held on 08 June 2020, it is hereby notified for the information of all health institutions that no sampling of dead bodies is to be taken up as it may lead to false results,” the notification reads.

“However, the burial is to be undertaken strictly as per COVID protocol as a precautionary measure,” the notification added. (GNS)
