Clashes erupt in Shopian over Army’s Iftaar stall, 4 civilians injured

At least four civilians including a 14-year-old girl were reported injured when clashes erupted in Damhal Khashipora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district late night on Monday.

Protesting against the army organised Iftaar, shouting pro-freedom slogans youth came out on the streets after which army fired upon civilians to disperse them, in which 14-year-old Shoby Jan received bullet injuries.

Reportedly, the army personnel opened fire at people who vandalised their Iftaar stall near a mosque in the village.

Hospital authorities have confirmed that four people were injured.
