A civilian was killed after a brief gun battle between militants and government forces at Kakapora in Pulwama, on late Sunday night.
Army officials said that suspected militants opened fire upon army’s 50 RR camp at Kakapora. The fire was retaliated by Army triggering off a brief encounter. In the incident, a soldier was also killed.
The civilian was identified as Bilal Ahmad Ganie, a sumo driver by profession of Narwa Kakapora, who had received critical bullet wounds in his head and died on the spot.
