Army personnel succumbs to gunshots, suicide suspected


An army man succumbed to gunshots in Jammu Kashmir’s Poonch district, with the Army suspecting it to be a suicide case.

The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old gunner Ranjot Singh belonging to Punjab. He was at forward post in Poonch when other jawans heard a gunshot. According to police officials, they rushed to the area and saw him in an injured condition yesterday.

He was declared brought dead by a hospital later. The post-mortem of the body was conducted after registering a case.
