Amid restrictions different Kashmir trade bodies on Tuesday held protest demonstrations in city centre to register their protest against killings in Kashmir, especially the recent civilians killings in Kulgam district.

Scores of the trade body members of Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF)  assembled outside the press colony in Lal Chowk and registered their protest against the civilian killings in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The members of the KTMF body also held funeral prayers in absentia for the slain civilians and prayed for their departed souls.

In a statement, Khan who also heads the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation accused the governor’s advisors of playing at the hands of RSS, “It is unfortunate that instead of making the Raj Bhawan take measures that would lead the state towards sustainable peace, the Governor’s Advisors are playing at the hands of RSS to further the crisis in the embattled state through communal agenda,” he said.

On the other hand the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) staged multiple protest marches at Raj Bagh and Regal Chowk, Srinagar.

The protest was led by Senior Vice President, Nasir Hamid Khan who read out the following statement on behalf of the KCC&I.

He said as a sign of solidarity and to collectively condemn naked dance of human right violations, the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry today joins and supports people of Kashmir Valley to observe this peaceful protest. Members including executive, affiliated associations and office bearers are present at this venue and in one voice urge all right-thinking people of the world to prevent a repetition of violations, which has already taken a heavy toll of our people.

He said that the trader’s body supported the protest call given by the JRL and stressed upon India and Pakistan to hold a dialogue.
