Al-Badr militant arrested from Handwara area: Police

Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a militant belonging to militant outfit Al-Badr from Rajpora area of south Kashmir’s district Pulwama.

In a statement issued here a police spokesman said that acting on specific information a joint Nakka of Police/Army/92 CRPF was laid at Chutipora crossing at 2:30 Pm,” During checking a suspicious person was intercepted. On his search a pistol and 2 grenades were recovered.The person was identified as Sajjad Ahmad Dar s/o Abdul Hamid Dar r/o Rohumu Pulwama,” he said.

Adding that Sajjad had been missing from his home since 03/10/2018 and a report to the effect had been lodged in Police Station Rajpora,” Sajjad has recently joined the terrorist organisation Al Badr,” the statement read.

A case has been registered in this regard at Police Station Handwara and the investigation has been set in motion
