Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday echoed the words of some separatist parties saying after the statement of union defense minister Manohar Parikar, people are being targeted and killed one by one in Kashmir.

“The statement of the union Defense minister that terrorists will be killed by terrorists indictes that the Ikhwan era is being reincarnated in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and that immediately after the statement people were targeted and killed in Sopore,” Omar while addressing people in Lal Chowk.

He took further dig at the dispensation castigating the deputy chief minister Dr Nirmal Singh’s recent statement over flood rehabilitation. Omar said that Nirmal is an outsider and doesn’t even know the water levels that devastated Kashmir last year.

Omar said the new government in Jammu and Kashmir didn’t even meet the minimum expectations and that Nagpur has become the new capital of the state.

According to KNS correspondent, Omar flanked by senior NC leaders including Ali Mohammad Sagar, Abdul Rahim Rather, Mubarak Gul, Choudary Mohammad Ramzan, Salman Sagar besides scores of NC activists and people held a protest demonstration against what the party termed collapse of governance in Jammu and Kashmir.

Omar while addressing people at Regal Chowk Srinagar, he said that all the decisions for the state of Jammu and Kashmir were not taken in the state itself but in Nagpur with the people away from the state taking decisions about Jammu and Kashmir.

He maintained that further that all the promises the PDP made to the people of the state have been undermined and forgotten by the present regime and that masses are denied even the very basic rights. “This rally and this protest has been organized to remind Mufti the promises he made to the people of the state what later has been achieved even when his government has completed 100 days in office,” Omar said amid slogans raised against PDP by the NC activists.

The former chief minister remarked that even the 100 days are completed by any government, it usually makes its achievements public but till date there has been not even a single word from the present coalition government.

He added that the tourism industry in the state has been totally collapsed and the state government has entirely failed to deliver on this front. “Mufti keeps on meeting Shahrukh Khan. If that would resolve the issue let Shahrukh be made  the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir,” Omar said amid anti Mufti and anti PDP slogans that revibirated in Lal  Chowk.

Later after witnessing the police barricades erected near the Lal Chowk, preventing the prorest march to move further towards the Ghata Ghar, Omar amid cheers declared that he would march towards Lal Chowk and will show the government that his party has the power to make its voice heard.

Chanting anti-PDP slogans, NC workers and scores of common people joined the march along with Omar.

Later the former chief minister along with some leaders waived the party flags and raised slogans against the government.
