Adopt people friendly attitude: IGP to cops

Srinagar: Inspector General of Police Kashmir, Swayam Prakash Pani on Sunday asked policemen to adopt people friendly attitude while dispatching their duties in Kashmir to better understand the problems faced by the people.

Pani made these remarks during his visit to District Police Lines in north Kashmir’s Handwara area where he held an interaction with the cops, a police spokesperson said.

Pani said the people friendly attitude and the relation between police and people could get a boost in right direction, which eventually will help police in better understanding of the problems faced by people and the speedy disposal of their grievances.

“IGP also emphasized on the officials and policemen to ensure accountability and to disburse their responsibilities with due care and caution,” the police spokesperson said.

Pani, according to spokesperson, also opined about the importance and need for transparency in the functioning of police and emphasized the role and utility of the modern technology in ushering transparency in the functioning of Police Department.

“He stressed on the officials for adoption of modern technology for better and transparent policing which is result-oriented and people friendly,” he said.
