4 injured as mentally challenged attacks villagers in Pattan


Four people were injured, one of them critically after being attacked by a mentally challenged person in Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district district.

Identified as Abdul Majeed Dar, a mentally challenged man attacked a group of villagers with a sharp  knife in Chek Jamal Mir village of Pattan here on Sunday evening, reports said.

The injured have been identified as Ali Mohammad Dar, Nazir Ahmad Dar, Abdul Khaliq Dar and Farooq Ahmad.  Among them Farooq Ahmad was seriously injured in the attack and was shifted to Srinagar hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case in this regard.
