Srinagar Airport Director calls Special Airport Security Committee meeting

Srinagar: In the view of prevailing situation in the Valley Srinagar Airport Director has called a meeting of Special Airport Security Committee after security advisory issued by Government of Jammu and Kashmir.

Airports Authority of India (AAI) spokesperson told ANI that Srinagar Airport Director has called a meeting of Special Airport Security Committee.

Earlier, in the day Jammu and Kashmir government issued security advisory in the interest of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims and tourists.

In an order isssued by Government of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Secretariat Home Department it is mentioned that in the interest of safety and security of tourists and Amarnath Yatris, it is advised that they may curtail their stay in the valley immediately and take necessary measures to return as soon as possible”, keeping in view the latest intelligence inputs of terror threats.

Also, an M-24 American sniper rifle with a telescope was also recovered from a ‘terror’ cache along Shri Amarnath ji route.
