Ladakh-bound bikers denied permission to enter Kashmir

Srinagar: In wake of ongoing situation in the Jammu and Kashmir, many Ladakh-bound bikers were not permitted to move towards Kashmir Valley on Sunday.

According to reports, the riders returned back from Jawahar Tunnel after denied to enter Srinagar by police.

“I was not aware of any restriction like this and was stopped while entering Srinagar in the Ramban district. At first, we thought it might be temporary. But now, we have to reschedule our trip and we have to change our plans,” a rider told ANI.

Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday issued security advisory in the interest of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims and tourists.

In an order isssued by Government of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Secretariat Home Department it is mentioned that in the interest of safety and security of tourists and Amarnath Yatris, it is advised that they may curtail their stay in the valley immediately and take necessary measures to return as soon as possibleā€, keeping in view the latest intelligence inputs of terror threats.
