Body of missing Kupwara man recovered from river Jhelum

Srinagar: The body of a Kupwara resident, who went missing last week, was recovered from river jehlum in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday.

Reports said the body of Sharif Mustafa son of Ghulam Mustafa of Gundishort Karnah Kupwara,was missing from Srinagar since June 01 and his body was recovered from the river Jehlum in Sumbal area of Bandipora village.

Reports said the body was spotted by the locals of Shadipora Narambagh, following which a police team reached the spot and recovered the body.

A police officer toldĀ  that the body will be handed over to the family after completion medico-legal formalities including the postmortem.

He said that a case under 174 CrPc has been initiated and further investigations taken up. (GNS)
