Afghanistan will be looking forward to win their first match of the World Cup 2019 after they restricted Indian team to 224 runs.

On a pitch that offered a lot to spinners Afghanistan managed to choke down India for a gettable 224 runs.

MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav helped India recover from a middle-overs slumber with a 57-run stand, however questions were again raised at the strike rate of veteran cricketer who scored 28 off 52.

Afghanistan spun a web around India’s in-form batting unit to restrict them. Afghanistan’s four spinners picked five wickets among them. Mohammad Nabi got two while Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Rashid Khan and Rahmat Shah picked up a wicket apiece. Captain Gulbadin Naib too picked up two wickets in the last over.
