As per reports, after the combined efforts of Indian army’s Rashtriya Rifles and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Gool, Ramban under Counter Insurgency Force Uniform delivered a major setback to a militant outfit in their efforts to revive militancy in South of Pir Panjal Range.
In a statement issued to a local news agency KNO, an army spokesman in Udhampur said that based on specific intelligence inputs, security forces conducted an operation in village Harah of Gool Tehsil during early hours on 13 May 2019.
“During the operation the Security Forces apprehended two suspected terrorist and recovered one AK-47 assault rifle with ammunition, personal items and cash worth Rs. 8871/- from their possession,” the statement said.
Both individuals belong to South Kashmir and are in their teens. Sources confirmed that both intended to join Lashkar e Toiba.
The timely apprehension of suspected terrorists and recovery of warlike stores has thwarted the nefarious design of terrorist organization to spread the “Arc of militancy” South of Pir Panjal Range. (Inputs from KNO)
