Srinagar: Thousands of people on Friday participated in the funeral of slain Ansar Ghazwatul Hind commander Zakir Musa in his native village Noorpora of south Kashmir’s Tral area.
Eyewitnesses said thousands of people including women and children participated in Musa’s funeral.
Despite rain and restrictions people from various parts of Pulwama and other districts reached Noorpora to participate in the last rites of slain commander.
Musa was killed after more than eleven hours of gunfight in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.
Zakir Rashid Bhat, alias Zakir Musa, joined militancy in 2013 at the age of 19. He was earlier affiliated with Pakistan based militant group, Hizbul Mujahideen. He shot to prominence in 2017, after he announced his disassociation from HM, and expressed the intention to go with the global movement of establishing Khilafat.
