Thousands of people from across the Valley reached the residence of Pulwama attack militant, Aadil Ahmad Dar, in his ancestral village, Kakapora area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir to attend funeral prayers in absentia.
As per the reports, despite severe security cover, thousands of people from across the Valley have assembled in Gundibagh Kakapora. Mr. Dar alias commando Waqas blew up a Scorpio carrying 350 kg of explosives on a CRPF vehicle that was part of a convoy on Kashmir highway at Lethpora killing 49 CRPF personnel. The attack also left several others injured.
Soon after the attack, the Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit claimed the attack and released a video of Mr. Dar.
The attack has sparked a sharp outrage in India, while several foreign alliances of the country have condemned.
