JRL calls for shutdown on Feb 9, 11

Srinagar: The Joint resistance leadership (JRL) on Thursday called for a complete shutdown on the ‘martyrdom’ anniversaries of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru on 9th and 11th February.

The JRL comprising of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik in a statement said that on Monday, 11th February, besides a complete shut-down, protest demonstrations to demand the return back of mortal remains will be held at Lal Chowk Srinagar.


A memorandum will also be dispatched to UN secretary general, the statement added.
