Srinagar: As a youth from Ganderbal district injured in forces’ action in Shopian district battles for life at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), a shutdown is being observed in Nagbal, Soura and the adjoining areas.

All the shops and commercial establishments are closed in Nagbal and Soura even as a thin transport movement  is witnessed on the roads.

Earlier in the day, scores of youth staged a protest at Nagbal chowk and blocked the road. However, the road was soon cleared for traffic by the police.

As per reports Mohammed Rafiq Parray (30), a resident of Rangil area of Nagbal in Ganderbal district, was critically injured after forces opened fire on the mourners during the funeral of Al Badr commander Zeenat ul Islam on Sunday.

The youth is admitted at SKIMS and is said to be on the ventilator.
