Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Electoral Officer Shailendra Kumar on Sunday said that he has briefed Election Commission of India on poll related arrangements and conveyed readiness to conduct elections anytime.
Kumar said, “I briefed Election Commission of India on poll related arrangements during the meeting of Chief Electoral Officers held on January 11 and conveyed our readiness to hold the elections anytime. It is now for election commission of India to take a final call.”
As already reported Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik have in their recent statements said that the government is ready to hold assembly and Lok Sabha elections anytime. But the dates have to be finalized by the election commission of India. (KNS)
