Two Jaish militants were killed in an encounter raged in the outskirts of Srinagar, Khonmoh area of Pampore today morning. Reportedly, 6 security personnel were also injured, including a Sub Inspector, 3 CRPF, and 2 Army personnel.
Following the credible input about the presence of the ‘terrorists’, a CASO was launched jointly by Jammu and Kashmir police and security forces, read the police statement. Two militants have been killed, however, they are yet to be identified and we are sanitizing the area so it will take some time.
The officer claimed that Jaish affiliated militants were ‘on the mission to Sabotage republic day.’ Two AK- 47s and ‘lot of ammunition’ has also been recovered from them.
Reportedly, the clashes also erupted in the area. It is pertinent to mention that internet services have been snapped across the valley due to the Republic Day.
The police also issued an advisory for the citizens and requested not to venture inside the encounter zone, “since such an area can prove dangerous due to stray explosive materials.”
