Srinagar: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) parliament member, Mir Mohammad Fayaz, on Thursday said that Kashmir has already gone far away from India and if there is a race of how many are to be killed.
Mir was speaking during a debate on the President’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir, which was imposed after the six months Governor’s rule that ended last month. “The violence in Jammu and Kashmir has been mainly due to the people in Delhi.” he said.
“Is there a race going on between you two (Congress and BJP) on how many Kashmiris you will get killed?” said Mir, while accusing the successive Central governments of the worsening of situation.
Saying that the state had decided to be with India, but “Kashmir is getting alienated from the country” due to the Centre’s policies.
However, the home minister Rajnath Singh while speaking on the issue, said that effort is that not even one incident takes place in state. “I have visited the State and interacted with the stake-holders, appealed for peace,” Singh said in the Rajya Sabha.
“The Hurriyat did not respond to our initiative, we kept the door open for talks. I ask all the senior leaders of J&K as to the initiatives that should be taken to better the situation. We are ready to implement them.”
