Srinagar: After a spell of heavy snowfall in Kashmir Valley for last two days, the meteorological department has predicted improvement in the weather till January 10.
On Friday, snowfall started in parts of Valley and continued on the following night, covering everything under a white blanket of snow, putting administration into work.
As per the MeT dept, temperature in state’s summer capital Srinagar was recorded as minus 1.2 degree Celsius.
While as the tourist places of Kashmir like Gulmarg and Pahalgam are still reeling under cold wave as temperature was recorded as minus 9 and minus 7.9 degree Celsius respectively.
After the Friday snowfall, the roads have become slippery in Kashmir due to water filled surface, in Srinagar and other districts of the Valley.
The lowest temperature recorded in Kargil was minus 18.6 followed by Leh at minus 10.3 degree Celsius. While as in Jammu city temperature was recorded as 7.4 degree Celsius.
