Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir to get the first ever inter-state bridge to be inaugurated on 22 January by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari which passes over Ravi river and connects Kathua of Jammu with Punjab, reports came on Sunday.
The demand was pending for last sixty years, reports said.
As per official reports, the 1.2 Km long Keediyan- Gandiyal Bridge costed a sum of about Rupees 150 crore to get ready for use.
The bridge would not only strengthen the inter-state connectivity but will also boost the social and economic development.
While as the traffic on Jammu-Kathua- Pathankot National Highway will be reduced and in meantime it will also shorten the journey between Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile official reports said that Advisor to Governor has visited the spot to take note of the arrangements made ahead of inauguration ceremony.
